After using KeyTweak, your keys will output keystrokes( function() { (‘review-app-page-desktop’); }); KeyTweak is useful for people working with alternative keyboard layouts, eg. B. Use computers in other countries. You may also need to customize your keyboard for certain games or computer programs. KeyTweak is a small lightweight utility (less than 500KB) developed by Travis Krumsick. The program is available on Windows Vista PCs. It is also compatible with Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 7. Although KeyTweak is no longer developed or supported, it works on computers running Windows 10. KeyTweak is not available for Mac computers. KeyTweak alternatives include Sharpkeys, Autohotkey, Google Input Tools for PC, and On-Screen Keyboard Portable. How to install KeyTweak? Downloading KeyTweak from Softonic is easy and safe. All you have to do is run the installer exe and then follow the on-screen instructions, including accepting the license agreement. You then go to the Start menu and find the KeyTweak submenu. You can also find manuals and uninstall apps here. To launch the application, you just need to click on the KeyTweak entry in the KeyTweak menu. How to use KeyTweak When you open KeyTweak, the main window displays an image of the keyboard with a menu bar, a Remapping section, a Keyboard Commands section, a Custom Buttons section, a Pending Changes section, and a button on Toggle Between Full and a half Learning mode. You can also access the KeyTweak manual from the Help menu here. Remember that the mapped keyboard is not specific to your keyboard; it is universal. Below the menu bar at the top of the window, the Remap section contains a list of keys and buttons that are currently being remapped to restore defaults and display raw maps. In the keyboard commands, you can choose a new remapping for the selected key. You can do this using the drop-down list and the Remap button. The custom buttons on the right side of the window allow you to remap some (but not all) of your keyboard’s custom buttons, e.g. B. video playback controls. In the lower right corner, the Pending Changes area displays all changes that will take effect after the next computer restart. The Full/Half Learn Mode button at the bottom of the window allows you to switch between the two learn modes. ToAt first glance, KeyTweak may seem difficult to use, but the comprehensive manual provides step-by-step instructions. You simply select the virtual keyboard key you want to remap. It corresponds to the keys on your own keyboard and has its own number. Once you click on a virtual key, you will see its current mapping listed in the Keyboard Commands section. Then go to the Select New Remapping drop-down list to select a new mapping for this button. You then click on the remapping button and this remapping will appear in the Pending Changes section. Any changes you make with KeyTweak will require a reboot to take effect. You then click on the Apply button to apply the changes and the program will give you the option to restart your computer immediately. You can also end remapping by clicking the Clear All button. You can repeat this process for as many keys as you like, set new assignments, or disable key functions. After restarting, your keyboard will be mapped as you set it while using the program. KeyTweak is primarily useful for redefining individual keys and fixing minor keyboard issues rather than changing the overall behavior of your keyboard. Remember that the changes you make in KeyTweak are global, so they affect everyone on the device. Full Learn Mode is an alternative method of remapping your favorite keys. When you click the Full Learn Mode button, a new window opens. After clicking Start Teach Mode, you can select a key on your current manual keyboard for one slot (#1) and a second key for the other slot (#2), then #1 to #2 Reassign. Half-learning mode is unnecessary because it is essentially the same method as the standard button remapping method. Does KeyTweak have any limitations? Although it is an effective program to modify the functioning of your keyboard, KeyTweak has certain limitations. KeyTweak can’t combine keys, so you can’t map Ctrl-Alt-Delete to a single keypress, for example. It also shouldn’t affect the laptop’s function key or pause/pause button. Some users may also be frustrated that all the dedicated keys on their keyboard are not a free keymapping program. There are many reasons why you might want to change the behavior of your keyboard. You may be pressing the wrong key over and over again on your new laptop. Or maybe you need to redefine the keyboard to run a specific program or play a game. KeyTweak can help you with this in an easy and efficient way, although there are some limitations. KeyTweak also helps if your keyboard is damaged and some keys no longer work. This is a free program that provides a simple solution to remap your keyboard input signals to suit your needs.
